"Gender Studies to Journalism Students: A Module"Launching Programme-Dec 22,2011
In the year 2010, Sancharika held consultation meetings with department heads and principals of different journalism colleges of Kathmandu Valley and based on the suggestions from the meetings conducted, content of all the journalism syllabi was reviewed and a module for the diploma level was developed. As a follow up of this, Sancharika worked towards incorporation of the prepared module in the journalism college of KU in 2011. The journalism colleges of KU too were convinced to incorporate the module in their existing journalism syllabus. A module launching event took place on December 22, 2011 at Kathmandu.
Besides, in order to encourage and motivate students of journalism colleges to work more on the issue of gender, Sancharika provided a research fellowship to them for undertaking research study on issue in relation to gender and media.
